Extensive Bio:
Terry Anderson is the chief flight instructor at FlyBoys Flight Centers. He was born in Oklahoma but soon moved north. During his early childhood, his family moved often. However, once his father was offered the position of President of Lee Wards and Vice President of General Mills, they settled in the Chicago area. His interest in cycling led him to Texas, where he attended college at the University of Texas in Austin. After college, he was hired by EDS as a computer programer. After leaving EDS, he got a job with Burdette Publications in California through a family friend. There, he served as manager over the computer division. When Burdette Publications bought Yours Truly and Paragon Needle Craft, he was promoted to plant manager of both Yours Truly of Georgia and Paragon Needle Craft of Pennsylvania. While in Georgia, he met his wife Wendy. After traveling back and forth between California, Georgia, and Pennsylvania, they decided to stay in Georgia. In 1988, they started Eagle Computers, which developed and maintained a wholesale/retail/POS system for the picture framing industry. In addition to maintaining the software program, Terry taught the customers how to use the program. Eagle Computers’ customers were scattered all over the country, resulting in a need to travel often. As the company grew, so did the need to travel. Eagle Computers needed a flexible way to travel quickly and efficiently. This need brought about an interest in flying. Terry began his career as a pilot in 2001. After his initial rating, he continued on to get his instrument, commercial, and multi-engine ratings. When his daughter, Sarah, expressed her interest in learning to fly, he sought his CFI, or Certified Flight Instructor rating, so he could teach her how to fly. After earning his CFI in 2004, Terry decided to start FlyBoys Flight Centers because of his love of both flying and teaching. Despite his successful career in aviation, Terry continues to run Eagle Computers with Wendy while Sarah manages the administrative side of FlyBoys Flight Centers. Sarah plans to continue her flight training and become a flight instructor with FlyBoys. |
